Signature Trail in the Salzburger Saalachtal
Absolutely fantastic treat: Technically skilled enduro riders will love the Wetterkreuz Trail! High above Unken, this challenging and scenically diverse trail leads from the eponymous Wetterkreuz (weather cross) at 1,000 meters altitude, navigating through rocks and boulders, showcasing the forces of nature and alpine landscapes of the Saalachtal region.

With the forces of nature, the Salzburg Saalach Valley reflects on originality. The Wetterkreuz Trail is an original trail. Natural and with rocks and roots, the trail meanders downhill – demanding and challenging in terms of technique, and, time and again, with unique valley views.
Remarkable is especially the access point with view to the Lofer Mountains and Steinerne Meer. And if you come here very early, then you get the chance to enjoy a unique sunrise.

In the Salzburger Saalachtal region, there’s a wide selection of impressive water-themed hiking trails, including the Vorderkaserklamm, Seisenbergklamm, Innersbachklamm, Strohwollner Schlucht, and Teufelsschlucht.
INSIDER TIP
Delicious specialties in a rustic cellar are offered at the Hofschank near Kräuterhof Lutzbauer in Unken. For groups, there are special experiences like “Gutes aus der Bauernküche” (Goodies from the Farm Kitchen) or “Tafeln wie im Mittelalter” (Feasting like in the Middle Ages). They also provide platters for home enjoyment.
