Mountain hunting on old military paths: The Kaiserjäger Singletrail in Levico Terme in Trentino is full of history. After all, you’re riding on old military roads here, through deep gorges, and over a historically significant mountain pass. The natural MTB single trail is not too difficult overall but is partially exposed. So, Kaiserjäger should bring along riding skills and a head for heights.

The Kaiserjäger Single Trail nestles closely to the rock, offers many views and leads slightly exposed downhill to Lago di Levico.
At first, the Kaiserjägerstraße roads takes us 700 altitude metres uphill to the top of the pass. The uphill ride through a gorge so narrow that you would hardly call it a road is an experience in its own. The old military road leads wavy from the top of the pass through dense deciduous forests. The trail leads past derelict military buildings and war cemeteries.
The trail finally meanders flowy through the forest until it opens and leads then downhill nestling closely on the rock. The trail is never too difficult but always slightly exposed. The view alternates between panorama and abyss. The many wider bends at the end of the trail lead finally downhill through the forest to Lago di Levico.
