Trail No 15
Signature Trail in Alta Badia, South Tyrol
Not just a number! The Single-Trail N°15 is rightfully the flagship of mountain biking in Alta Badia. It encapsulates everything that makes the region so special: a high-alpine biking adventure over waves, roots, and rocks.
TIP: Don’t miss the ascent by foot through the Armentara meadows and the unique alpine landscape of the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park! We give it a clear N°1!
Signature Trail in Alta Badia, South Tyrol
The trail No. 15 is the essence of biking in Val Badia – an eventful ride through a sparse larch forest below the Kreuzkofel.
Trail No. 15 from the Heilig Kreuz Church downhill to St. Kassian is the signature trail of Alta Badia. And that rightfully so. It combines everything that represents this region. Mighty rock massifs, gentle mountain meadows, historic sites and nature that you may not have expected here. This first-class trail is just the icing on the cake. The trail nestles at the slope and, at the start, runs in gentle waves across natural ground without losing many altitude metres. This can be exhausting but also very funny.
If you want, then combine the trail with an uphill ride across the Armentara Meadows and a visit to the Snow Cave.
WORTH KNOWING
The first settlers of the Alta Badia region were bears, as evidenced by discoveries in the Conturines Cave at an altitude of 2,800 meters: In 1987, numerous bear bones, some up to 60,000 years old, were found there.
INSIDER TIP
A traditional mountain picnic surrounded by the peaks of the Dolomites? This is made possible by ten participating mountain huts offering delicious picnic baskets, local specialties, and blankets as part of the “Picnic sön munt”.
PHOTO SPOTS
Snow Cave: A visit to the snow cave is a must and especially pleasantly cooling.
Latschentrail: The first part leads through semi-open terrain with a view of the rock towers behind, weaving through Swiss pine trees. It has it all.
