Velill Trail

Signature Trail in Ischgl, Tyrol

The Velill Trail is an alpine dream come true – rocks, a mountain stream, abandoned huts and a dense forest at the end.

The Velill Trail starts at the Idjoch Pass in approx. 2,800 m above sea level and runs across 9.3 km and 1,380 altitude metres downhill into the valley. It nestles naturally in the alpine mountain landscape, meanders along the slope and traverses between large rocks. Green glimmering layers show through time and again – a sign of the so-called lower Engadin window.

The Velill Trail has been named after the stream which runs along the route most of the time. The crisp high-alpine trail gets a bit gentler from the point where it meets the Velillbach stream. The trail picks up the gradient of the stream, crossing it time and again.
